Walnut Donut

INGREDIENTS

  • 150 g of walnut kernels
  • 150 g of 00 flour
  • 180 g butter
  • 150 g of sugar (if you like it very sweet you can increase)
  • A teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs
  • A pinch of sales
  • 6 g of yeast
  • 40 ml of milk
  • Powdered sugar for decoration

PROCEDURE

  • Blend the kernels with a spoonful of flour until you obtain a walnut flour.
  • Beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the salt, the vanilla and then, little by little, the lightly beaten eggs.
  • Mix the yeast and flour.
  • Add one spoonful at a time to the dough, alternating flour/yeast and walnut flour.
  • Add the milk.
  • Butter and flour the pan.
  • Pour the mixture and cook in a static oven at 180° for about 40 minutes (do the toothpick test, it may take longer).
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle with icing sugar (you can use a stencil or, as I did, a perforated placemat or doily).
  • You can also add a glaze on top or fill it.
